Scot had a wonderful teaching last night on The Power of Pentecost to Fellowship.
These were the three main points he made.
1.The Dots of Fellowship.
Follow the dots in Luke and you will realize how important the church was in the live, death and ressurection of Jesus.
2. The Day of Fellowship.
When Pentcost happens a church is born and the first sign of the church is fellowship.
3. The Details of Fellowship.
The details of this fellowship are:
(a) ECONOMICS – Everybody had everything in common. There were no needy persons among them.
(b) PUBLIC – They met in public places not only in small cozy groups.
(c) SOCIAL – They ate together. Just as Jesus invited the wrong people to dinner.
Five Characteristics of people who live through Pentecost:
1. LOOK with God’s eyes and see the need around them.
2. LISTEN with God’s ears in order to hear the need of people.
3. LEARN what the needs in the community are.
4. LOCALLY focussed. Nobody is called to be everything for everyone everywhere. The beste place to make the biggest difference is local.
5. LINK – People living through Pentecost actually engage with people in need – even people in need of friendship.
But.. maybe you must listen to Scot teach about The Power of Pentecost to Fellowship.

Scot maak dit so logies dat ‘n mens aan ‘n kerk moet behoort. Wat vir my belangrik was is dat daar soveel meer in is as net jou redding. Wanneer jy nie deel is van ‘n gemeenskap van gelowiges nie dan mis jy baie. Dis juis wat Jesus gedoen het.
Alec: Ek dink hier is ‘n belangrike saak wat in besonder in die Suid Afrikaanse opset gehoor sal moet word. Ek is bevrees dat os in Suid Afrika in ‘n baie groot mate met ‘n individualistiese teologie gewerk het, waar al wat belangrik is dat ‘n mens die Here moet liefhê en moet weet jy gaan hemel toe. Soos Scot gesê het: “That is 100% true, but that is not enough.”
Attie vandag moet ek kom skryf hoe goed GOD is, Vrydag middag op pad huis toe, het ek – seker maar omdat ek so hoofpyn gehad het, my afstand heel misreken, ek ry toe wragtig voor ‘n trok in, ek het gedink die afstand is groot genoeg, toe ek so terug kyk in die spieèltjiie is daai einste trok reg agter my, haar breedte van my kar af, dit is net ‘n wonder dat daai trok my nie gestamp het nie! GOD was teenwoordig in my kar! Dit kon ‘n baie lelike ongeluk gewees het! Ek het Vrydagaand toe ek gaan lè dit oor en oor beleef, en gewonder hoe dit moontlik was dat daai trok my NIE gestamp het nie!
