Scott McKnight is doing a series on N.T. Wright, Surprised by Hope::Rethinking Heaven, the Resurrection, and the Mission of the Church. Scott is of the opinion that this book may well be one of Tom’s most significant books ever.

According to Scott, Tom has written the best book we have on the resurrection (Resurrection of the Son of God) and one of the highlights of the book is its exploration of a theology of resurrection instead of just focusing on proving the resurrection.

Follow this link to The Jesus Creed and either join the stimulating discussion or just read how people think and reason on this issue.

Scott McKnight will be visting South Africa in the first two weeks of May 2008.

(I wrote this in English as I expect Scott to follow the pingback to see what I have written in this regard.)

  1. Attie,

I have a friend who’ve been a skeptic for several years. He told me that after reading Tom Wright’s 850 page book “The Resurrection of the Son of God” he realized that there is much more evidence for the bodily resurrection of Jesus than he thought. What’s more, Wright is not the kind of scholar who tries to push his arguments down your throught. He tackles all the arguments for AND against which shows his academic integrity.

  2. Hi Attie,

Glad to see that you’re talking about Wright’s latest. I actually got the UK version (cause I’m such a buff I couldn;t wait for the 2/5 U.S. release date) and I’m starting a series on it on my site. Thought you might be interested.

    Grace and Peace,
    Raffi Shahinian
